Security Systems News asked Jackson five questions. How did you first get started in the industry? My father was a manufacturer in this industry, so I got intro- duced that way. I actually really liked it, the technology espe- cially, and when I came to the U.S. I worked for a few integration companies and started from the bottom pulling cable and worked my way into management and system design. What are some of your hobbies? I am very active and love CrossFit, which is a terrific discipline, so that is my daily routine. Where are you originally from and how does that compare with where you live now? I am from Perth, a small city in Western Australia that is very different than where I live now in Las Vegas, which was a big culture shock for me. It is different, but I love it and it is an exciting place to live and work. What trends are you seeing right now in the industry? What I am finding with analytics—the people counting, point of sale, all of these things—is that providing business intelligence equates to better return on invest- ment and value for the customer. What do you like most about the industry today? I love the people I work with. I am very passionate about what I do and my company shares that same passion. It is a family-type of business, which creates a terrific environment to work in, from the owner, Todd Flowers, on down, so I get absolute support across the board from all my colleagues. —Paul Ragusa Five Questions COMPANY (ticker) Price Previous 52-WK HIGH 52-WK LOW EPS AlarmForce Industries (AF.TO) 9.90 10.31* 10.98 9.40 -0.35 Alarm.com (ALRM) 45.34 42.59 45.93 25.03 0.40 Allegion (ALLE) 82.76 78.58 83.14 61.47 2.60 Ascent Capital Group (ASCMA) 10.51 11.44 24.75 8.87 -8.92 Avigilon (AVO.TO) 18.00 16.23 18.31 7.76 0.37 Cisco Systems Inc.
